Programmes Manager for Accra based Hitz Fm, Mark Okraku Mantey has taken young musician Akoo Nana to the cleaners describing him as a nobody in the music industry that cannot threaten the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to him, the musician wields no clout and has no big following that can shake the political foundations and fortunes of the government and must shut up when proper musicians are speaking.

The slip music Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said it is the likes of Sarkodie and Kojo Antwi who will threaten the government and the president and his appointees will catch a cold and not the likes of Akoo Nana.

Mr. Okraku Mantey was reacting to pronouncements of the young musician insinuating he will instigate his fans against the government if the president does not stop attacks by state institutions on Menzgold Ghana Limited.

Various players in the creative arts industry have backed the company by voicing their disagreements over the Bank of Ghana’s stance on the company’s operations.

The central bank has accused Menzgold of engaging in deposit-taking activities in contravention of the strategic deposit-taking institutions Act of the bank.

The company has since issued a statement denying any wrongdoing.

The Precious Minerals Marketing Company is also on the trail of the company, indicating that the company has not been licensed to sell Gold in the country.

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale was the first to voice his disagreement with the treatment being meted out to the company by suggesting that he has more votes than the finance minister, who in his opinion is masterminding the persecution of Menzgold.
