Members of a group calling themselves the Concerned Ghanaians citizens living in the United States (US) who demonstrated against President Akufo-Addo when he attended the recent 72nd UN General Assembly meeting, have taken on the Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen for describing them as mad people.
According to them, they are worried a party leader like Obiri Boahen on a Kumasi radio station will descend that low and describe them as mentally deranged persons demanding an unqualified apology from him for his unrannated comments.
“We acted on the advice and vision of the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that we should be citizens not spectators”, their leaders revealed.
In a statement jointly signed by their executives, Mr. Evans Field Marshall, Chairman, Mr. Seth, secretary, Dr. Lawrence Appiah, organizer and copied Ghanakasa.com they observed that the demonstration was done in the spirit of the Ghana’s Constitution.

It is with no doubt that on the 21st day of September 2017, we the Concerned Ghanaians living in U.S.A exercised our constitutional rights by demonstrating at the forecourt of the world governance to register our dissatisfaction about the insecurity and corruption that has engulfed the sanctity of our Country Ghana”, the release stated.
Some of the insecurity and corruption issues include, Akufo-Addo’s trained Invincible Militants and Delta force terrorists who beat up a police officer on duty at the flagstaff house, the dragging out of the Regional Security coordinator from office by the Delta force, the abstraction of justice at Kumasi Court by Delta force, killing and lynching of a soldier; Major Adam Mahama (may his soul rest in peace), Ken Ofori Atta’s 2.25 billion Dollars bond, BOST M.D, 5 million liters of contaminated oil saga, turning the seat of government in to corruption hub among other things.
We projected our worries on placards and made a few suggestions as well, in a spirit of fairness and in line with constructive criticism”
Based on the foregoing, we called on the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to provide his Country and party a leadership that will deter wrong doing, encourage respect and uphold the rights of Ghanaians as embedded in the national constitution.
We the Concerned Ghanaians in U.S.A demand immediate apology from Nana ObiriBoahen as well as a retraction of his statement against our noble men and women.
We also suggest to Nana Obiri Boahen to heed to the guidance of President Akufo-Addo and be a Citizen and not a party stooge.
