The National Labour Commission (NLC) has asked striking members of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) to call off their long strike.

CETAG declared an indefinite strike over a month ago following a failure to reach an agreement with the government on the payment of their Interim Market Premium as well as Book and Research allowances.

But the Executive Secretary of the NLC, Ofosu Asamoah, in an interview with Kwabena Prah Jnr (The Don) on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM said CETAG is expected to call off the strike immediately following an order by the NLC that all parties must meet to resolve the impasse within 14 days.

“They are expected to call off the strike immediately and meet with the other parties to resolve the issue. All the parties have up to 4 January 2019 to submit the final report to the NLC”, Mr Asamoah said.
