The Black Stars of Ghana have qualified for the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

This was disclosed in a statement released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday, 3 December 2018 following a decision by the football governing body on Friday.

This follows the disqualification of Sierra Leone by CAF after it failed to meet the conditions for lifting a Fifa ban.

The statement stated that all Sierra Leone’s matches in the qualifiers are now ‘annulled.’

The Black Stars of Ghana and Kenya who are both in group F qualify from the group to play in the Afcon 2019 since Sierra Leone did not take part in the qualifiers after the ban was placed on them.

A ban was imposed on Sierra Leone after its anti-corruption commission (ACC) barred its football association president Isha Johansen and General Secretary Christopher Kamara from the football governing body’s offices.
